Welcome to my online portfolio as a Japanese translator.
My name is Jordi Olaria, I was born in Barcelona. Graduated in software development and systems administration, although during my first years after studying I worked as a layout artist and book designer at the family publishing house.
I have been interested in Japan since I was young. After studying the Japanese language and culture for a year, I decided to stay and live in Japan, where I have lived since 2009, a country where I combine my work life as a computer scientist with the translation of books and manga, teaching Spanish to Japanese people and, as a hobby, doing creative writing (especially horror and fantasy stories, some of which have been published in magazines and anthologies).
I have collaborated with various media companies writing articles about Japan and its culture, specializing in folklore and society. Also have composed All is correct, an instrumental CD in the style of Petshop Boys. You can download it for free right here.
